In this policy, “krispii” refers to Krispii Inc. staff, board members, cooperating attorneys, contract workers, interns, volunteers, and consultants.
krispii does not sell or otherwise monetize the data that is collected, either automatically or voluntarily, via our services.
Visitors to our website, and users of our web platform, should be aware that access is logged. The bulk of the logging is automatic and used only to verify, improve or detect quality-of-service issues for our visitors and users.
Certain access-related timestamps are logged to provide our application with the basis on which to determine trial periods, invoice periods and occasionally to aid with technical support.
Our platform, by its very nature, requires the input and sharing of some data including names, email addressess, and personal information. We only gather information needed to run the service and use best practices to keep the information safe.
At krispii, we don’t ask for more than we need. As such, the only information required to start and use an account is that required to run it; name, email address, and should you choose to become a paying user, a credit card.
We may ask for additional personal information when you provide feedback or comments, or otherwise communicate with us.
From time to time, we may ask for personal information related to contests, surveys and more; all of this information submission is voluntary.
Broadly speaking, krispii doesn’t collect information for any reason other than that of its mission: to provide you with an online library and platform for teaching and learning.
We may occasionally mine data to improve our services; but in any case where personal information will be involved krispii will use an explicit opt-in methodology; notifying you of the option to help us by sharing specific data, within the web platform.
As of the current version of this document (dated August 1, 2016) krispii provides no third-party service providers with any information about our users and visitors. The current list of third party service providers includes:
- Stripe (payment processing)
- Vimeo (streaming video)
- SoundCloud (streaming audio)

- Amazon Web Services (cloud services provider)
- Shiftfocus Media (private analytics platform hosting)
We will comply with lawful orders for information once such requests are reviewed by our legal counsel.
If we are required by law to disclose information that a user has submitted, we will attempt to provide the user with prior notice (unless we are prohibited) that a request for information has been made. We will attempt to provide this notice by email.
As of August 1, 2016, we have received no requests for information from any organization, be it government, surveillance, or law enforcement.
In addition, we will independently object to requests for access to information about users of our site that we believe to be improper and we have done so.
You may choose to correct, update, or delete the information within the krispii platform. Our policy with deletions is straighforward; nothing is immediately deleted. We do this to protect students and teachers alike. We maintain deleted student & teacher data for up to one year before it is automatically purged from our databases.
krispii uses industry standard security measures to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. We encrypt all data in-transport between systems and are increasingly moving to completely encrypted data-at-rest. Although we make good faith efforts to store the information we collect as securely as possible, we cannot guarantee complete security.
